Pension Adelheid

We, the Niederegger family, warmly welcome you!

Our guesthouse is a family business that is now being run by the 3rd generation. You will find our guesthouse in the lovely Lienz and the striking South Tyrolean Dolomites, which characterize the landscape of Alta Pusteria.

In our house you will experience the flair of hospitality and tradition. With great attention to detail, a sea of flowers adorns our house in summer. The large, idyllic garden with cozy seating areas also invites you to linger.

Recharge your batteries for an eventful day in the mountains with a good, extended breakfast with a buffet that leaves nothing to be desired. Enjoy a 3-course dinner menu based on traditional Austrian cuisine. We refine our dishes with herbs from the garden – from homemade soups to sophisticated desserts.

The lovingly renovated lounge is available to the whole family for social gatherings.

Our house with history

Pension Adelheid was originally a hereditary farm. In 1875, it burnt down to the walls and was rebuilt into the house we know today. Franz Niederegger, who was mayor of Sillian and a member of the provincial parliament for 34 years, had set up a carpenter’s workshop and a blacksmith’s shop in the new house alongside the farm. At times, there was even a post office here.

The first beginnings of Pension Adelheid took place in 1955, when a few rooms were made available for guests in the farmhouse. Little by little, tourism grew and with it the facilities for guests.

Alfons and Adelheid Niederegger rebuild the farm and founded the “Pension Adelheid” in 1964. The senior manager is also the namesake of the guesthouse.

The entire first floor was destroyed in a flood in 1966. A high-water mark in our lounge reminds us of this.

Norbert Niederegger took over the guesthouse in 1970 and continuously renovated it. Angelika, the youngest of his three daughters, has been the junior manager since 2005 and has made the leap to *** stars through further renovations.

A big thank you to all our dear regular guests who have remained loyal to us for decades. It’s always nice to be able to welcome familiar faces.
